The trip starts in Ushuiai where we do a days ski touring/training.

It has an open bridge policy, so you can usually go up and enjoy the views and see what is going on.
Double rooms with loads of room to store gear.

With fantastic menu options at each meal, there is a real danger of gaining weight.

Crossing the Drake takes about 48-50 hours. The ship has stabilisers so it' snot often very rough.

We load the zodiacs to go ashore to tour. There are 10 of them, so it's not long to wait.....
Then it really starts to hit you, you're about to ski/board in Antarctica!
